Qualification criteria
- Completed consecutive days of active duty service during wartime.
- Served more than half a year consecutively on active duty during peacetime.
- Completed several years of service in the National Guard or Reserves.
- A spouse of a service member who died in the line of duty or as a result of a service-related disability.
- Eligibility includes holding a valid Certificate of Eligibility from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
